Compress and merge PDFs in your browser
Shrink a heavy scan or combine a stack of documents into one file. Everything happens on this device — there is no upload, no queue and no watermark.
100% private: your documents are processed on this device and never uploaded.
Private browsing is on, so your settings will not be remembered after you close this tab.

How hard should it squeeze?
Compression works by re-encoding the images inside the PDF. Text and vector drawings are never touched.
Images are never enlarged, and a page is left alone whenever re-encoding would not make it smaller.
Merge PDFs
Add two or more files. They are combined in the order shown below.
Use the arrows in the file list to reorder documents before merging.

Why a PDF tool that never uploads
Nearly every free PDF compressor works the same way: you upload the document, a server processes it, and you download the result. That means handing a contract, a medical scan or a passport copy to a company you know nothing about, and trusting a deletion policy you cannot verify. This tool does the work in your browser with the File API, so the document is read into memory, rewritten, and offered back as a download. Nothing is transmitted. Pull out your network cable and it still works.
That also removes the limits those services use to sell subscriptions: no queue, no two-file-per-hour cap, no watermark, and no maximum size beyond what your own device can hold in memory. The trade is that very large scans take a few seconds of your CPU rather than someone else's.
Guides
Frequently asked questions
Are my files really not uploaded?
No. The PDF parser, compressor and merger are JavaScript running in this tab. There is no server component at all — the whole site is static files. You can verify it by opening your browser's network tab, or simply by going offline before you drop a file in.
How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends entirely on what is inside. A scanned document or an image-heavy deck can drop by 70–95%, because photographs dominate the file and re-encoding them is enormously effective. A text-only report that was already compressed may barely change, and the tool will tell you honestly rather than pretending.
Will compressing blur my document?
Text and vector drawings are untouched and stay perfectly sharp at any zoom. Only embedded images are re-encoded, and you control how hard. Balanced is right for most documents; use Light when image detail matters, Strong when the file has to fit an upload limit.
Can it open password-protected PDFs?
No, and it will say so rather than producing a broken file. Encrypted PDFs need the password to decrypt their contents; remove the protection in your usual PDF reader first, then compress.
Is there a file size limit?
Only your device's memory. The tool declines files over 120 MB, because beyond that a phone browser tends to run out of memory part-way through and lose your work.
